An international lithium mining and processing company was having trouble getting their newly redesigned lithium casting machine on-line. The standard electrical slip ring that had passed thermocouple signals to the machine no longer fit into the extremely restricted opening of the new design. What’s more, the new slip ring had to include a junction box for the thermocouple connections and be tough enough to operate in a 400° environment.
